Drug and Alcohol Rehab Reference Center Purpose

Successful drug rehabWhether you're searching for a rehab treatment program for yourself or you wish to help someone else who has a drug or drinking problem, Drug and Alcohol Rehab Reference Center is here to help connect people who need help with the proper facility. Our trained counselors are committed to helping others find treatment centers with high success rates.  There is no cost or obligation to speak with a counselor and all conversations are kept confidential.

Our counselors will spend time with you so you have a better understanding of what addiction is. We will help you find the best solution which will treat your specific situation.  We ensure that the rehabilitation treatment facilities are properly licensed with their staff  qualified and credentialed. Complete recovery is our goal. We're here to advise and support and to make the recommendation that could finally put one's life back on track.

There are many different types of drug and alcohol treatment rehab programs and if the addict has already had failed attempts to overcome addiction in the past, it could be even that more difficult to reach for help. But help is here and we'll work with the addict and his or her family to get them on the road to recovery.

Picking a rehab treatment program is one of the most significant decision the addict will make. Most addicts believe they can overcome their addiction on their own, but then they find another weekend wasted, or they've put lives at risk by driving under the influence...again. Don't play Russian Roulette with addiction, be it drugs or alcohol. If you're waiting to hit rock bottom, the cost could be too high. The truth is, "rock bottom" is death, but killing an innocent person while driving and then having to live with that is too horrible to comprehend, and well, it's completely unnecessary.

With so many different types of substance abuse programs available, we make it simpler by helping match up each individual needing help with the best suited treatment program available.

Drug Addiction

drug addictionWe are a pill-taking society.  Television and radio ads tell us that there is a pill for anything and everything that ails us. There's a pill to make us happy, a pill to ease the pain, a pill to make you pay attention, and a pill to help you sleep. It's a rare case when someone actually tries to find out what the circumstances are that brought about the ailment in the first place. Unfortunately most of us are looking for a quick fix and we're buying it left and right..  The bottom line is that you can not predict the effect that a drug can have on you, not even over-the-counter medications.

One of the fastest growing problems plaguing the nation is the abuse of prescription drugs. While legal, when prescribed by a doctor and used as suggested, many of these medications can cause dependency.  And then when you incorporate the illegal activity of selling and using prescription drugs without being under a doctor's care, and the dependency that comes with its use, an epidemic of prescription drug addiction has all but seized us. The U.S. Department of Health and Human Services reported as early as 2003 that students in big cities are "pharming" these days - "pharming" being a new catch phase for grabbing "a handful" of prescription drugs and ingesting some or all of them. Young people steal their parent's or grandparent's pills and distribute them at school. Senior citizens falsify their prescriptions for more pain medication. Babysitters take pills from cabinets. More case scenarios are not hard to imagine. It's been estimated that 20 percent of people in the United States have used prescription drugs for nonmedical reasons. This is prescription drug abuse. It is a serious and growing problem.

The Partnership for a Drug-Free America research shows that 1 in 5 teens has abused a prescription pain medication. 1 in 5 report abusing prescription stimulants and tranquilizers and 1 in 10 has abused cough medication. Many teens mistakenly believe these drugs are safe because they have legitimate uses.  What they do not realize is that they are just as dangerous as illegal street drugs and just as addictive.

There are so many aspects to drug addiction, drug abuse, illegal substance trafficking and self medicating that to try to cover all the data regarding the scourge of addiction in our society would not serve the purpose of this website or the services we provide. You're here. You're most likely looking for answers. We can help.  Fill out the form at the upper right of this page and let us know the best time to contact you.  Our free confidential consultation obligates you to nothing.  We do recommend that where addiction is the topic of concern, it is never best to put off finding help.
